Apologies, been poking around but don’t know the world of fanfics that well. Has anyone ever seen any good works on Monty’s past? Feels like there’s a lot to explore there.
Not that I’m recalling, sorry, though it’s possible I missed it, or am forgetting. The closest I’m remembering is a brief mention in Under the Bridge.

Everyone knows Monty was a ruthless, amoral soldier-of-fortune who went wherever the blood money was being doled out the most richly.
Africa, the Middle East, the Balkans, Southeast Asia… the list goes on. He’s been everywhere and done everything. No amount of atrocity was off-limits. No targets were untouchable, nothing was sacred except the allure of cold, hard cash, delivered in-hand and accompanied by the thrilling smell of napalm in the morning.
…What, you didn’t think all his traveling stories were just him taking vacations, did you?
